First Steve Backshall set us a challenge:
Expedition!
Then we had to pack our expedition bags in teams. We had to choose three items that we thought were the most important from a selection.
Then we had five missions to complete in our teams. When we completed each mission, we received a clue which would help us to discover a new species.
Mission Maths
We had to get across to the other side of the hundred square by answering tricky Maths questions. Our team mates gave us directions.
Mission Science
We built a minibeast habitat in a tray using everything we thought a minibeast would need for food and shelter.
Mission Rations
Time for refreshments: Kendal Mint Cake and hot chocolate, yum yum!
Mission Obstacle
We built an obstacle course in our teams with mountains, rivers, stepping stones and all kinds of other things!
Mission Explorer!
Choose the outfit most suitable for your expedition. This one was lots of fun!
Then we received our final clue and so we went off to find our new species! What funny creatures!
For each mission our team leader gave us points. Well done to the winners, Mrs Peterson's Team!
